Life Coaching is NOT Therapy

Therapy It's important to know the difference between life coaching and therapy.  They aren't the same.

What They Focus On:
  • Life Coaching is mostly about what you want to do in the future and taking steps to get there. It helps you set goals, learn new skills, get better at things, and reach specific results. It's about moving forward and making the things you want happen.

  • Therapy, on the other hand, often looks at things that happened in the past to understand problems you have now. It helps you heal from sad feelings, deal with tough experiences, and treat mental health concerns.

Who They Help:
  • Coaching is usually for people who are doing pretty well but want to make their lives better, improve how they do things, or deal with changes in their life.

  • Therapy is for people who are having strong negative feelings, mental health problems, or things from the past that make it hard to do everyday things.

How They Work:
  • Coaches work with you like partners. They use tools to help you set goals, plan, learn new skills, and stay on track.

  • Therapists are trained and licensed to find and help with mental and emotional problems. They use special methods to help people feel better.

Important Note: Life coaching is not the same as therapy or mental health treatment. If you are having serious mental health problems, strong feelings that don't get better, or dealing with bad things that happened in the past, it's best to get help from a licensed therapist or counselor. A good coach will know this and might suggest you talk to a therapist if needed.
